We are excited to announce that another 50 juvenile European pond turtles (Emys orbicularis) have arrived at the Environmental Education Center in Umianowice! These exceptional reptiles come from the Polesie National Park, where they were recently born.
Now, they will begin the next stage of their journey—acclimatization in specially prepared conditions. Next year, they will be released into the inland delta of the Nida River, where, together with last year’s turtles, they will initiate the process of reintroducing this species to Ponidzie.
