Big success in a small pond.

Although the April weather is still very changeable, this does not discourage the amphibians, which have already begun their migration to breeding sites. Perhaps you remember our crested newts from the breeding, which last year we released into a specially made water tank in Umianowice? If so – we have great news for you! Newts happily overwintered and returned to our tank! We have already managed to observe four individuals – two males with a beautiful high mating crest and two females. We hope that this is not the end and that the remaining newts will also return to the reservoirs we monitor, and if not – that they will successfully begin breeding in other nearby aquatic habitats. We keep our fingers crossed for them and wish them numerous offspring!
