23 Jan LIFE at the “Night of Biologists 2020”
On 10 January 2020 we participated in the Night of Biologists organized by the Institute of Biology of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce. The motto of this year’s edition was ‘Global Climate Changes’.
Just like every year, there was no shortage of attractions. Nature lovers had the opportunity to admire the sheep from the breeding farm run in Ponidzie as part of the Life+ project entitled “Protection of valuable natural habitats in Ponidzie” implemented by ZŚiNPK, completed in December 2018. During the Night of Biologists, a new project LIFE17 NAT/PL/000018 entitled “Renaturalization of the inland delta of the Nida River” was presented
The staff of the Świętokrzyskie and Nadnidziańskie Landscape Parks Complex prepared workshops for children, teenagers and adults on species that are legally protected and those that threaten our native fauna and flora. The event was accompanied by quizzes, riddles and a presentation of invasive species, including the red-eared slider, Orconectes limosus and the brown bullhead.
Natur-Vit company in cooperation with the scientific consultant Wojciech Szymański, PhD, presented the beneficial effects of herbs and fruits. As part of Night of Biologists, there was also a meeting “Eye to eye with a predatory bird” with falconers and their charges from the “Rabiec” Horse Falconers’ Group.
