Our little pond turtles are doing very well

One of the tasks of our project is the reintroduction of the pond turtle, which has become extinct in the Nida Delta area. Courtesy of Polesie National Park (PPN), we collected the first 50 juveniles of the species, which were placed at the LIFE project headquarters in Umianowice.
The little fellows have the right living conditions created, we have installed heating lamps, UV lamps and heaters with thermostat for them. No diseased individuals were found during the project staff’s observations. After the quarantine period, the turtles will be placed in litter boxes designed in accordance with the recommendations of the specialists from the PPN
