Prevention partol and rubbish clean-up for Earth Day

On April 22, 2023, a preventive patrol took place in the LIFE project area. The following employees participated:

– Specialist in. nature conservation Wojciech Soltysiak;

– Specialist in. Grazing and maintenance Boguslaw Wojtasik;

– Representatives: the Umianowice Volunteer Fire Department, the Umianowice Village Housewives’ Circle, as well as residents and the mayor of Umianowice.

During the field inspection, the area was inspected along the Umianowicka Smuga, the Old Nida River, and the resulting backwaters at the so-called  Turtle Island. During the patrol, topics such as illegal grassland burning, off-road quad and motorcycle races, discharging waste into water streams, and the extensive contamination of the environment with domestic waste were addressed.

With Earth Day falling on April 22, employees together with the residents of Umianowice conducted a cleanup of the project area, the area around the Nature Education Center and Umianowice village. A total of several tons of waste was collected
