Another Project Monitor visit.

Another Project Monitor visit.

On October 6-7 we had another inspection visit by Project Monitor Mr. Stanislaw Tworek, who oversees our project on behalf of the European Commission. The meeting took place at the newly opened Nature Education Center in Umianowice, a place that plays an important role in the implementation of project activities.

The first day of the visit was stationary and provided an opportunity to present the progress of the project’s various activities and to discuss the project’s financial and accounting issues.

During the second day of the visit, the Project Monitor and project staff went to the field. The results of our work were presented, including a section of the Old Nida River that has undergone conservation, as well as the feeder, a riparian forest planted last year, a constructed pond for the fire-bellied toad and , nesting platforms for storks installed this spring, and a grazing area with Polish ponies and Hereford cows.
