Mid-term conference of the LIFE18 NAT / IT / 001020 LIFE FORESTALL project in Venice.

On November 23, we participated in the mid-term conference of the Restoration of Alluvial Forests and Cladium mariscus habitats in Ramsar and Natura 2000 sites 2019-2023 LIFE18 NAT / IT / 001020 LIFE FORESTALL project in Venice. The beneficiary coordinating the project is CORILA – an association consisting of: Ca ‘Foscari University, Luav University, University of Padua and the National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics. The main goal of the project is the reconstruction and protection of habitats: 7210 * chalk bogs and 91E0 * willow, poplar alder and ash riparian forests.

In the first part of the meeting, 20 speakers presented the progress achieved in the implementation of projects and their results so far. The second part of the session consisted in presenting projects that established cooperation with the LIFE FORESTALL team consisting in the exchange of information, knowledge and experience – LIFE LAGOON REFRESH, LIFE DRYLANDS, LIFE4DELTA_PL, LIFE BRENTA 2030, LIFE PRIMED and LIFE LA VALBONNE.

During the conference, the project manager. – Wojciech Sołtysiak presented the main goals, assumptions and results to date of the LIFE4DELTA_PL project.

The trip ended with the exchange of experiences regarding the implementation of projects and the implementation of active protection tasks, broadening the knowledge on the issues of nature protection at the international level and establishing contacts.
