New 2020 call for the LIFE Program. ZŚiNPK participates in training

On Thursday, 6 February 2020, a training on writing applications for the LIFE Program in the 2020 call for proposals was held. It was organized by the Mazovian Landscape Park Complex, in cooperation with our unit.

During the first part of the training, the general principles of the LIFE Program and ways of preparing a concept note were explained, and examples of LIFE projects implemented in Poland were presented. Together with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management we encouraged potential new applicants to submit their proposals in the upcoming calls for 2020. We explained all the difficulties involved in writing a proposal and discussed the benefits of LIFE.

In the second part, the Director of the Świętokrzyskie and Nadnidziańskie Landscape Parks Complex, Tomasz Hałatkiewicz, gave a presentation on their experience in implementing the LIFE project: “Protection of valuable natural habitats in the Ponidzie region” and the ongoing project entitled “Renaturalization of the inland delta of the Nida River”.

Among the speakers there were also representatives of the Landscape Park Complex of the Silesian Voivodeship who gave a presentation on “Protection of non-forest communities in the area of Beskid Landscape Parks” and “Protection of valuable non-forest habitats characteristic of the Eagles’ Nests Landscape Park area”.

The results obtained as a result of LIFE projects are extremely valuable and include not only nature conservation issues but also landscape protection and cultural values of the region.
