14 Feb Platform Meeting of LIFE projects.
The Platform Meeting of LIFE projects took place on 9-10 February 2023 at the Nature Education Centre in Umianowice. With an ‘open space’ format, the event was an opportunity to share experiences and discuss the difficulties of implementing the various measures. The meeting was attended by more than 60 people – employees of various institutions implementing as many as 18 Polish LIFE projects. Other participants included the representatives of the institutions supervising the proper implementation of the projects, i.e. NEEMO EEIG and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw.
Issues related to the ongoing implementation of environmental and climate projects, problems encountered and good practices, as well as the formal and financial clearance of projects, were discussed on the first day.
The discussions were followed by a tour of the Nature Education Centre, which included a presentation of the Nidarium and laboratory, as well as the nearby facilities – an ornithological observation tower and a narrow-gauge railway station.
During the second day, participants spent time in the field, where the effects of the implementation of the activities of the LIFE project entitled ‘Renaturalisation of the inland Nida delta’ were presented. For instance, there was an opportunity to see the effects of renaturalisation work in the area of the inland Nida delta and the grazing of cows and Polish ponies in meadow habitats.
The LIFE4Delta project team would like to thank all participants for their active participation and willingness for further cooperation. Alongside this, we wish you the utmost success in the further implementation of LIFE projects.
