Seen through the camera’s eye. Unusual visitors in a bald eagle nest.

Surprising scenes were captured by a photo trap installed by naturalists from Swietokrzyskie and Nadnidziańskie Landscape Parks in the nest of the white-tailed eagle . They were visited by… among others, a curious raccoon.

A wildlife camera trap in the nest of a pair of white-tailed eagles in Ponidzie was installed a few months ago. The employees of the Świętokrzyskie and Nadnidziańskie Landscape Parks Complex did it because they were concerned about the rare occurrence of these beautiful birds.

It seemed that nothing was going on there, that maybe the nest was not inhabited… But it turned out that there was a lot of interest in the area and the nest itself – says Marcin Słoma from the Swietokrzyskie and Nadnidziańskie Landscape Parks Complex.

White-tailed eagles were interested in the nest, but so were other animals. They were visited by a raccoon, among others. Martens also visited the nest, but of course when it was not there – says Marcin Słoma from ZŚiNPK.

Both the raccoon and the marten could look for food remains in the eagle’s nest.

But it’s not just this recording that proves how many species cross paths directly. In the video recorded by members of the Save WildLife Foundation in the Daleszycki forests, we see wild boars, deer, roe deer, elk and wolves… in one place, although at different times. If wolves are present in an area, the ungulates will soon disappear from there, for now they just pass each other by -explains prof. Roman Gula from the Save Wildlife Foundation.

Videos from camera traps prove that peace and quiet in the forest are only… apparent. See the footage.
