The tea promotes the natural wealth of the Nida delta.

Elderflower, goosefoot and small-flowered willowherb are just a few of the ingredients in the Nida Delta Tea, which was started by the Świętokrzyskie and Nadnidziański Landscape Parks Complex. All the ingredients can be found in Ponidzie’s extremely rare riparian forests.

It has a light, herbal and fruity taste. It soothes stomach ailments and improves immunity. The pro- health effect of ‘Delta Tea‘, whose production was initiated by the Complex of Swietokrzyskie and Nadnidziański Landscape Parks, is due to its unique composition.

The composition includes gypsywort , small-flowered willowherb, elderberry, red currant and black currant,” says Kalina Adamczyk of the Świętokrzyskie and Nadnidziański Landscape Parks.

All these plant species are characteristic for the wetlands of the Nida delta. They can also be found in riparian forests.

These forests are very rich in species. They are also very rare, having been damaged and destroyed as a result of poor drainage works and land drainage,” notes Kalina Adamczyk.

That is why naturalists have launched the pioneering LIFE 4 Delta project. It consists of restoring the old landscape of the old Nida floodplains and recreating riparian forests. Several thousand trees and bushes have already been planted. Tea is a promotional material which is to draw attention to the natural wealth of the area near Umianowice.

I think that in the centre in Umianowice you will be able to taste the tea from the Delta,” said Robert Pisarczyk from the Świętokrzyskie and Nadnidziański Landscape Parks.

The nature centre in Umianowice is to be ready in September. To make the riparian forest delightful again with its rich flora we will have to wait a little longer… 10 years.
