A visit to the floodplains near Umianowice is almost like watching a nature film.
The abundance of waterbirds surprises even naturalists, who completed hydrological work in the area several months ago.
During the surveys, habitat for thick shelled river mussels, toads and 14 species of fish were also discovered.
Due to such a large food base, white-tailed eagles also returned here in November. This happened thanks to the fact that naturalists from the Complex of Świętokrzyskie and Nadnidziańskie Landscape Parks restored oxbow lakes more than 20 kilometers long. This resulted in the gain of about 100 hectares of wetland trenches, which are invaluable not only for animals, but also for humans.
